Homemade Chocolates
With Easter approaching quickly, homemade chocolates are a great way to make healthier sweets that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Can also be a fun task to get the kids involved. You don’t need many ingredients and you can change the flavours as much as you want.
Ingredients
Instructions
  1. Place cacao butter into a small saucepan on low heat to melt.
  2. Once cacao butter is melted and smooth, add in your preferred sweetener and mix. I prefer coconut syrup as it mixes in really well.
  3. Remove from heat and add cacao powder and mix until smooth.
  4. Stir through add ins if using.
  5. Line a slice tin or plastic container with baking paper and pour the mixture in. If you are using chocolate moulds, grease if required and pour into moulds.
  6. Place in the freezer for an hour to set.
  7. Break up into chunks or press out of moulds. Store in fridge or freezer.
Recipe Notes
  • You can swap cacao butter for coconut oil. Cacao butter just makes the chocolates a little creamier and I personally find the chocolates store better in the fridge.
  • Add less cacao powder if you find it too bitter.
  • Alter sweetener depending on taste buds.
  • You can also add in nut butter into the mix or any other preferred add ins to flavour your chocolate.
